Parks resurfacing project:

Work will resume starting May 18^th. During this phase of the project the parks will receive a seal coat and parking areas will be re-striped. We request that you observe temporary traffic patterns in the park. We also request that patrons observe delineated work zone areas. The Contractor will start at the City park and move on to Southwood. We thank you for your patience during this project.

Jackson Fountain:

Work will commence the week of May 25^th for all the site work and installation of the fountain. As stated above we request that you observe work zone limits and traffic patterns around the construction site. We thank you for your patience during this time.

Message from Mayor Tom Joyce

It is crucial that every single individual in our community do their part in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, this means staying at home and following hygiene and social distancing recommendations, if you and/or your family members leave your home for any of the permitted purposes in Governor Justice’s order.

The use of Parks for exercise such as walking or biking is permitted at this time; but persons should observe the guidelines prior to, during and after the use of the parks.

Any disregard for the order or guidelines creates a public health hazard and not only places our community at risk, but it places at risk all essential personnel including health care professionals and First Responders.

Gov. Justice’s order states that “all public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a single household or living unit are prohibited, except for the limited purposes permitted by this Order (view the order in its entirety at  https://governor.wv.gov

Any gathering of more than 10 people is prohibited, unless exempted by this Order. Nothing in this order prohibits the gathering of members of a household or residence.

US Small Business Administration Disaster Information

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)is offering designated states and territories low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Upon a request received from a state’s or territory’s Governor, SBA will issue under its own authority, as provided by the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act that was recently signed by the President, an Economic Injury Disaster Loan declaration.

The contractor has begun to mobilize for a storm sewer

 replacement on Roseland between Fairview Ave. and 36^th Street.

This will affect traffic pattern in this area.  The road may have to

be closed during some portions of the project to facilitate the

necessary repairs. The closure will take place from 34^th Place to
