SNOW REMOVAL

These locations are the primary focus for snow removal and treatment during any weather event that creates unsafe road conditions.

Public Works personnel will refocus their efforts on ancillary (side) streets and roadways only after the designated priority routes have been treated and plowed to the extent conditions are mitigated to allow their efforts to be repurposed onto other locations such as side streets and others that do not have hills or busy intersections.

During snow events please use caution when driving only when necessary. Please remain 30 feet away from plow/salt trucks at all times.

Construction to Start on Market Street Enhancement Project

Construction on new ADA sidewalks along Market Street, from 9th street to 10th Street, is slated to begin on Friday, June 11, 2021.  Improvements include the installation of new sidewalks, curb cuts, street trees and landscaping elements within the new curb extension (bump-out) features.  Bump-outs are designed to encourage slower vehicular speeds, offer increased safety to pedestrians crossing the street while adding stormwater retention properties and street beautification.  Work will start each day no earlier than 7:00AM and finish by 7:00PM in accordance with City Ordinance 0-621.

Funding for this project is made possible by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

For questions regarding the construction schedule, please contact the Engineering Division at 304.424.8568.   We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate the public’s cooperation during the construction project.
