The City of Parkersburg celebrates the opening of the City Park Pool and Splash Pad in partnership with the YMCA.

To make this summer even more exciting, the City of Parkersburg has expanded its partnership with the YMCA to offer water aerobics and aqua Zumba classes at the City Park Pool. This partnership brings the expertise of the YMCA instructors to the community, giving residents additional opportunities to stay active and healthy while enjoying our public facilities.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our residents and visitors access to a fun, affordable, and ADA Compliant aquatic facility for the summer,” said Mayor Joyce. ” We are equally excited to partner with the YMCA to offer these aquatics fitness classes to the community.”

The City Park Pool and splash pad have been a resounding success since opening in 2018; the attendance has significantly increased compared to figures seen in years prior to the improvements.

Regular hours for 2023 will be as follows:

Monday –            Water Aerobics @ 11:00 AM                    Open pool hours: Noon -8PM

Tuesday –            Open pool hours: Noon-6 PM                    Aqua Zumba @ 6:15 PM

Wednesday –      Water Aerobics @ 11:00 AM                      Open pool hours: Noon-8 PM

Thursday –          Open pool hours: Noon-6 PM

Friday –                Open pool hours: Noon-6 PM

Saturday –            Aqua Zumba @ 11 AM                               Open pool hours: Noon-6 PM

Sunday –              Open pool hours: Noon-6 PM

These expanded hours of operation will allow more accommodations regarding status of construction at both Southwood Park Pool in Parkersburg and Jackson Pool in Vienna. These aqua fitness opportunities are free to the public.

The City Park swimming pool and splash pad will remain available for rentals Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.
