A public forum will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the City Park Pavilion to discuss plans regarding the Parkersburg Activity and Recreation Center (PARC). Additionally, the meeting will be streamed live, to provide additional residents with an opportunity to engage in the process if unable to attend in person.

This forum will provide an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the PARC vision and share their thoughts, ideas, concerns, and engage in general discussion about the concept and proposal in a civil and respectful manner.

The PARC project seeks to provide significant investment in a public space to deliver a high-quality and versatile activity space for the community and provide an enhanced location for recreational pursuits & gatherings of all sorts.

“Providing residents and organizations with opportunities and offerings is a key driver in why people locate to and reside in a community.  Investments in activity and recreational amenities and public spaces should be considered as an economic development tool to retain and attract people to our region.”-Tom Joyce, Mayor

During the meeting, facilitators will provide an overview of the PARC project, including potential programming within the facility, site location considerations, building design, park and community safety, and the economic impact potential associated with the proposed development.

“I am committed to ensuring that the project reflects the interests and needs of the community. Therefore, it is encouraged that residents attend and participate in the conversation. I am eager to hear from residents and to gain valuable feedback that will help shape the project as it moves forward.” -Tom Joyce Mayor
